This is a tool that is located on the Section Files portion of the Submittals tab.

Function

The Arnold Segments interface () provides options to generate Route outputs in Shapefile, File Geodatabase, or Text File directly from the HPMS Manager product.

Controls

This interface hosts the Data Table dropdown control, alongside these controls:

Generate Files By

As indicated above, the user has three options in the Generate Files By picklist: All Routes, Route Type, and Select Route(s). When "All Routes" is selected, there are no additional selections that must be made; the user can simply generate the submittal file. However, the other two options-- Route Type and Select Route(s)-- will trigger the appearance of additional criteria to be filled.

Route Type

When "Route Type" is selected, checkboxes will appear below the picklist. The user must select at least one route type checkbox before generating the submittal file. The user can select the checkboxes manually or by using the Select All link which automatically checks all displayed boxes.

Select Route(s)

When "Select Route(s)" is chosen, these tools will display below the picklist to allow the user to pinpoint specific routes to generate the file by.

At least the Route Type and Route Number fields must be filled in order to add a route. The County field is an optional, and the Direction field will automatically be filled with a value once the Route Number is specified (but can be altered if desired). Once a route is specified, the "Add Route" button can be clicked to place the route in the box on the righthand side. The user can specify multiple routes before generating the file.

To remove a route selection, the user can click on the route (ID) in the box, then click the "Remove Route(s)" button. Multiple routes can be removed at once by holding "Shift", clicking the desired IDs, then selecting the button. This action removes the route(s) from the box and from the impending file generation.

Output

The File Types-- Shapefile, File Geodatabase, and Text File-- produce specific fields in their outputs. The table below outlines their characteristic fields.
