One of the main abilities HPMS Manager provides is the ability to edit data in order to address and correct data issues found as a result of Validations. This step includes editing, background editing, correcting issues, and viewing past changes.
Edit Data
The main portion of the "Edit Data" step is the actual editing of data. This can be accomplished in two interfaces: the Validation Edit Menu and the Basic Editor.
| Icon | Name | Description |
| Validation Edit Menu | Edit data and correct validation errors. | |
| Basic Editor | Search, create, and update data in the data table. |
Edit Groups
To successfully update data in the data table, the Edit Groups interface can be used to add additional columns for viewing and editing in Basic Editor.
| Icon | Name | Description |
| Edit Groups | Create, save, or delete groupings of columns designated for editing. |
Data Cleaning
Once these edits have been made, the Data Cleaning section of the Edit tab provides tools to fix issues found in the Roads and Highways (R&H) events, such as gaps in the route segments or measure offsets that exist between data items.
| Icon | Name | Description |
| Fix Event Gaps | Find and correct gaps that exist in the source data for a Roads and Highways event. | |
| Snap Events to Route | Find and fix micro gaps or overlaps that exist between a Roads and Highways event and the ends of routes. | |
| Fix Event Offsets | Find and fix measure offsets that exist between data items. | |
| Fix Event Overlaps | Find and fix overlaps that exist within a Roads and Highways event. | |
| Dissolve Events | Find and fix dissolvable coincident segments in the Roads and Highway event layers. |
Management
The user can view the history of changes made to a data table or to the source data in the Management section of the Edit tab. This record can be gathered on two interfaces:
| Icon | Name | Description |
| Edit Log | View a history of the changes made to each HPMS Data table. | |
| Save Data to Source | Save data edits stored in the HPMS Manager back to the source data from which the HPMS overlay originates. |
Check Event IDs Report
Finally, the user can check for duplicate or missing Event IDs to ensure that each event in the R&H environment has a unique identifier.
| Icon | Name | Description |
| Check Event IDs Report | Run a report to determine if duplicate or missing Event IDs exist in any R&H event. |
