The Edit/Delete Projects interface allows the user to search for multiple projects and batch edit or delete them. In this interface, the user can change the values for Project Date and Remarks, map projects and counters, add/edit/delete stations, manage documents associated with projects, delete the project, and view the schedule.
Filter
To display data on the interface, the user can utilize the Quick Search fields-- Select Year and County. The "Select Year" picklist is required while the "County" picklist is optional. Once at least the year is specified, the "Find" button can be selected to display the first result stored. The arrow buttons in the lower righthand corner can be used to navigate between records if more than one applies to the criteria.
Alternatively, the "More Filters" link can be used to find a special project in the system if a more specific search is necessary. The More Filters pop-up will have eleven filter options: Year, County, Route Type, Route Number, Between Milepoints, Direction, Project #, Rural/Urban, Urban Area, Functional Class, andRemark. The user can utilize one filter or a combination of filters, then select the "Find" button. This will close the More Filters pop-up and fill the "Edit/Delete" table with the related results.
Change Values
The Project Date and Remarks fields are both editable. To change their values, the user can click into them and type a new value. Then, the "Save Changes" button can be used to implement the new values.
Map Projects & Counters
To map projects and their associated counters, the user can select the "Map" link which is located at the bottom of the interface. When this link is clicked, the project that is currently shown in the interface will be mapped. The map will not automatically be zoomed to the mapped items; however, the user can navigate through the Map Frame to find this mapped information.
Edit & Delete Stations
Each station associated to the special project will be listed in a table and will have three links: Show, Edit, and Delete.
The "Show" link opens the Special Project Site Counter Maintenance interface for the station. On this interface, the user can view the station's information and edit the available fields if desired.
The "Edit" link opens the Stations Location Change pop-up. The user can utilize the icons, picklists, or textboxes to edit the location data (see similar instructions on the Add Special Project article).
The "Delete" link removes this station from the special project. Once this link is selected, a message will appear that asks the user to confirm this action before permanently deleting the station and any associated raw data.
Add Station
To add a new station, the user can click the "Add Station" button beside the Stations table. This will trigger the appearance of the "Add Station" interface which allows the user to enter information on a new station associated to the special project. Only the "Year" and "Select Project" fields will be editable when the user first enters this interface. The other fields will be enabled as information is entered. It follows this logic:
- An entered Project value enables the County picklist.
- An entered County value enables the first Route # picklist.
- An entered Route # Type enables the second Route # picklist.
- An entered Route # enables the Direction and From Measure fields.
- An entered Direction and From Measure enables the To Measure field.
- An entered To Measure enables the Counter Location field.
Alternatively, the user can utilize the Route, From Measure, To Measure, and Counter Location icons () after choosing a year and project to interactively select station information from the map. A map selection using the Route icon will fill the County, Route #, and Direction fields.
The "Next" button moves the user to a second screen on the "Add Stations" interface. This screen has the Station # field prefilled and view-only, so its corresponding icons-- Next Available Station () and Currently Used Stations (
)-- are disabled. The CCS # field is also view-only, with its corresponding icons disabled when working with Projects. The editable fields-- Description, "# of Machines Needed", and four checkboxes-- are not required, but they can be optionally filled to specify the counters further. To save the counter information, the user can select "Save Station."
Manage Documents
Documents can be associated to special projects in the Traffic Data Manager system. To view these documents, the user can click the "Documents" link which is located at the bottom of the interface. Then, the special project's current documents will be shown in a table on a pop-up, listing the File, Description, Updated By, and Updated On information for each document row. The "Add Document" link on this pop-up allows more documents to be associated to the project; when selected, the user can enter a description and choose a document from their File Explorer. On the other hand, the user can delete a document by selecting the checkbox on its table row, then the "Delete Selected" link.
Delete Project
The "Delete Project" button is conveniently located on this interface to allow for the removal of a special project from the system. If the user chooses to delete the special project, the project and all its associated counters will be permanently deleted.
View Schedule
The "View Schedule" link opens a pop-up which lists the projects scheduled for each month of the selected year. On this interface, users can add a new project to the schedule, edit a scheduled project's details, or delete a scheduled project. The "Year" picklist which determines the listed projects can be used to change the year at any point while viewing this interface.
If the "Add New" button or a project link is selected, a pop-up will appear that allows information to be entered or viewed about the scheduled projects. The Date, Hours, Project Location, Day & Project, Machines, and Notes fields can be edited on this interface. An existing schedule can also be deleted here if desired using the "Delete Selected" link. To print the Schedule pop-up, select the "Print" link; this will print the fields/table shown below.
