Split Sample by TOPS

This is a tool that is located on the Sample Adequacy section of the Sample Adequacy tab. 

Function 

The Split Sample by TOPS interface (Split_Sample_by_TOPS.png) is used to find samples where the TOPS data items change along the sample. In this interface, sample sections can be split into multiple samples based on changes in the TOPS items. The interface also provides the ability to disassociate a section of sample based on the changes in TOPS items.

Sections

The interface is divided into 3 sections:

  1. Data Table Information -- Contains general information about the selected Data Table.
  2. Sample Data Grid -- Shows the results of the Check Samples function, indicating where TOPS item changes occur across a sample length, and allows segments to be disassociated with a sample. 
  3. Button Controls -- Contains two button controls.

This interface hosts the Data Table dropdown control, alongside these controls: 

Control Sections Used To...
Year Dropdown Data Table Information Select the year to use for splitting samples. 
Break on AADT Change Checkbox Data Table Information Determine whether AADT will be used as a criteria for splitting samples. 
Check Samples Button Data Table Information Execute the Split Sample by TOPS function and populate the Data Grid based on the Data Year, Data Table, and Break on AADT options. 
Table Checkboxes Sample Data Grid Disassociate segments from a sample. 
Save To Source Checkbox Sample Data Grid Enforce that changes to the HPMS Data Tables are also applied to the HPMS Samples data source.
Export to Excel Link Sample Data Grid Export the current table to Excel format.
Save Changes Button Button Controls Disassociate marked segments and update the TOPS table.
Discard Changes Button Button Controls Exit out of the interface without committing changes.
