The Login button is located on the Map and Interactive Controls ribbon, to the right of the Help icon.

Guest Users

When the user first enters EGIS Viewer, they will be logged in automatically as a guest. This can be confirmed by clicking on the EGIS Viewer logo and viewing the standard username (egisvuser).

Guest users have access to everything in the application except Safety data, Standard Reports, System Administration, and Load/Save Search. These tools will be hidden for guest users.

Function

The Login Button allows the user to gain a higher level of access if the appropriate permissions have been assigned to them. Some examples of additional functionality offered if the user logs in are shown below.

Log In

To gain more access to EGIS Viewer, the user can follow these steps to log in:

1. Click the Login button () on the Map and Interactive Controls ribbon to be redirected to the ESRI portal.
2. On this screen, select the ALDOT Account button.
3. Enter your ALDOT email address ("username@dot.state.al.us") in the blank.
4. Click the "Next" button.
5. Enter your password in the blank.
6. Click the "Sign In" button.
7. Open your authenticator app to enter the code on the screen to validate the login.
8. Select whether you wish to stay signed in ("Yes" button) or not ("No" button).
   • Yes = The user will not have to enter this information for a period of time into the future.
   • No = The user will have to enter this information again the next time they want to log in.

After following these steps, the user will be redirected back to the EGIS Viewer application where they will be given access to any additional functionality as configured by the System Administrator.

Log Out

Once the user is logged in, the button will change to read "Logout". The user can click this button to log out of their account and have the guest user assigned to them once more.
