Edit Work Package

This is a tool that is located on the Packages section of the Data Collection tab.

Function

The Edit Work Package interface (Edit) is used to add missing information and change the selected information in the work package. This allows users to revisit the work package for editing purposes rather than having to create a completely new work package to address errors. 

Controls

There are some controls offered in this interface which help the user edit work packages.

Control Used To...
Select Package to Edit Dropdown Select a previously created work package to edit; packages are sorted by date descending. 
County Dropdown Select a county from which to add segments to the package; optional. This will narrow the route items in the Available box to only those in a certain county.
Route Dropdowns Specify a route to add segments to a package. A selection here fills the Available box with items; there are three dropdowns. The first dropdown allows users to pick between interstate and state routes. The second dropdown gives a numerical value to the first dropdown (ex. Interstate 59). The third dropdown defaults to inventory, but the user can manually change this selection to non-inventory. 
Select All Links Select all items in the box above the link; the select all links can be found under the Available and Included in Package boxes in the Segments and Events sections. 
Add Button Add items from the Available box to the Included in Package box.
Remove Button Remove items from the Included in Package box.
Enter Name of Package Textbox Edit the name of the package.
Save Package Button Save the changes made to the package.
Discard Changes Button Discard the changes made to the package. 

Add Segments/Events

To add a segment to a work package, the user can follow these steps:

  1. Find the package in the "Select Package to Edit" picklist.
  2. Choose a County (optional) and Route in the Location box.
  3. Locate the "Add Segments to Package" section.
  4. Click the desired options in the Available box.
  5. Click the Add button.
  6. Click the Save Package button.

To add an event to a work package, the user can follow these steps:

  1. Find the package in the "Select Package to Edit" picklist.
  2. Locate the "Add Events to Package" section.
  3. Click the desired options in the Available box.
  4. Click the Add button.
  5. Click the Save Package button.

Remove Segments/Events

To remove a segment or event from a work package, the user can follow these steps:

  1. Find the package in the "Select Package to Edit" picklist.
  2. Select the segments/events for deletion in their Included in Package box.
  3. Click the Remove button.
  4. Click the Save Package button.
