There are two icons which help the user identify items on the map. Both of these icons are easily identifiable by their titles-- Identify Feature and Identify Route-- and the "Identify" section header.
Identify Feature
To identify a feature on the map, the user can select the "Identify Feature" tool. Once the tool is highlighted in orange (), it is ready to be utilized. The user can then click on the map to display information about all enabled features under the selected location. If more than one feature is found, arrow buttons will appear at the top of the information box for the user to navigate between the features. Area features such as County, Region, and Areas also provide a link to zoom in toward the feature on the map.
Identify Route
To identify a route on the map, the user can first zoom into the intended area on the map to get a better view of the desired route. Then, the user can select the "Identify Route" tool. Once the tool is highlighted in orange (), it is ready to be utilized. The user can click on the map to identify the relevant route in the selected area. The map will then display an "Identify Route Results" box that lists the route, measure, and nearest mile marker.
