When a Permanent or Portable traffic site is mapped, the user will be able to hover over or click on this plotted point in order to view additional information about the site.
Map Hover
The user can hover their mouse over a plotted Permanent or Portable traffic site to view the associated County, Route, Milepoint, Year AADT, and Sensor Type. Permanent traffic sites will also have a CCS number listed in their Map box, and Portable traffic sites will list their Station number. The images below show an example of each traffic site type's Map box.
Map Click
If the user wishes to see extended general information about the traffic site, they can click on the plotted point. This action will open the Counter Location pop-up. This pop-up has these fields for both Permanent and Portable traffic sites: County, Route, Milepoint, Segment, Length, Lane Total, Counter Type, # of Loops, Last Successful Collection Date, Rural/Urban, Urban Area, Functional Class, US Route, TADT, CCS #, and Sensor Type. Portable traffic site locations will have an additional field-- "# of Lanes Monitored"-- on the pop-up. The image below shows an example of the Portable and Permanent Counter Location boxes.
If the user wishes to see detailed information about a Permanent or Portable site, they can click the "More..." link to enter the Counter Maintenance interface. This is the same interface that is displayed when the user clicks the Counters icon under the Permanent Sites or Portable Sites tabs. When the "More..." link is selected, a window will appear, showing available information about the identified traffic site. Some of the information on this pop-up is editable for those with permissions, such as the Counter Type (Counter Location section) and Cycle Years (Other section) picklists. If any changes are made in this window, the privileged user must select the "Save Changes" button to solidify the changes. The "Discard Changes" button can also be selected if the user wishes to remove the changes and revert the fields to their previous values.
The other controls available on this interface (filters, link controls, etc.) are explained further in these articles: Permanent Counters and Portable Counters.
