The Section Data interface allows the privileged user to create Section Data files. HPMS traffic section data files are pipe delimited files that contain specific data elements to be uploaded to the FHWA. When the user selects the Section Data icon (), this interface will appear:

There are some controls offered on this interface.

Control Description
Year Picklist This picklist hosts all years in the system that have data.
Create Individual Files/Create One File Radio Button

These radio buttons allow the user to choose the desired output format:

  • Create Individual Files: have the system create individual files for each data item selected.
  • Create One File: create one individual file containing one or more data items.
Data Items Checkbox These checkboxes allow the user to select data items to include in the file(s).
Select All Link This link allows all data items in the list to be selected with one click.
Create Section File(s) Button This button generates the creation of the file.

The user must select a Year, a radio button (Create Individual Files or Create One File), and at least one data item before they can create the Section File.
