The Raw Data Maintenance interface allows the user to view and maintain raw counter data for permanent sites collected by hour and lane. To enter this interface, the user must click the Raw Data icon () in the Data Maintenance section of the Permanent Sites tab. This interface is divided into 3 sections: Query Area, Continuous Count Site (CCS) Area, and Results Area.
Query Area
The Query Area of the Raw Data interface appears at the top of the user's screen, and it allows the user to query for data. The user can query for information through two methods: CCS picklist or More Filters link.
If the user selects a CCS number in the picklist, the system will automatically update the "Date to Maintain" and "Date to Compare" fields and display the related results in the tables. These dates can be manually changed if desired by typing in the textbox or selecting an alternative date in the calendar that appears when either textbox is selected. Alternatively, the user can utilize the "Previous" and "Next" buttons for the "Data to Maintain" field and the Last Week, Last Month, or Last Year buttons for the "Data to Compare" field to change their dates.
Note: The Last Week, Last Month, and Last Year buttons change the "Date to Compare" value based on the "Date to Maintain" value. For example, if the user selects the "Last Week" button, the system will consider the "Date to Maintain" value (ex. 6/25/2023) and make the "Date to Compare" value a week prior (ex. 6/18/2023).
If the user chooses to query for information using the "More Filters" link, a pop-up will appear with other common location criteria (see image below). The user can fill as many fields as desired to specify the results; if a filter combination triggers no results, a message will appear at the top of the application to notify the user. Once all desired fields are filled, the user can select the "Find" button to find the related results. Then, they can scroll through the table and click on a row; to finalize the selection, the user can click the "Edit Selected" button to dismiss the pop-up and view the data on the Raw Data Maintenance screen.
CCS Area
The Continuous Count Site (CCS) Area of the Raw Data interface appears below the Query Area, and it allows users to view information about the currently selected CCS. This information will include CCS number, Counter ID, Route ID, Description, Milepoint, and Segment. Above this information box, the user can also see if the data is pending or approved through the "Data Is Pending" and "Data Is Approved" radio buttons. While these radio buttons can be edited, the remaining information in this section is view-only.
Results Area
The Results Area of the Raw Data interface appears below the CCS Area, and it allows users to view the results of a query. This interface has two tables of information that relate to the Query fields. The left table can be used to view and maintain the raw hourly data from a selected CCS; this table corresponds to the "Data to Maintain" date. The right table can be used to view the raw hourly data from the same CCS collected on another date; this table corresponds to the "Data to Compare" date.
The Results Area is divided into tabs. There are four available tab types: Volume, Class, Speed, and Weight. These allow the user to switch between data types. These tabs are only visible if the corresponding type of data is available for the current site/date.
Controls
There are also some important controls offered on this interface:
| Control | Used To... |
| Preventative Maintenance Link | View, add, and delete repair statuses for the traffic site. |
| No Restrictions Link | View the special events that hindered data collection; the user can also add, edit, delete, and print special event data. |
| Direction Report Link | Generate a Daily Volume Report by Direction for the traffic site. |
| Lane Report Link | Generate a Daily Volume Report by Lane for the traffic site. |
| Estimate Button | Estimate one or more hours of data in the current dataset and one or more lanes based on the filter criteria entered by the user. |
| Reverse Directions Link | Reverse all directions in the data; the system will make the user confirm their choice in a notification before reversing. |
Edit Counts
To edit counts on the Raw Data interface, the results data in the left table can be edited directly or estimated by the user. Data can only be edited if the selected permanent site is in a pending state, indicated by the selected "Data Is Pending" radio button. If the "Data is Accepted" radio button is selected, the results are read-only.
